Only Fools and Horses is arguably Britain's best ever comedy series. From almost being axed after just one series due to poor viewing figures, the programme steadily grew in popularity. What was thought to be the last ever episode, Time on our Hands, shown at Christmas 1996 attracted an audience of 24.3 million viewers, making British television history by becoming the most watched television programme ever.

Only Fools and Horses returned five years later in 2001 with the Christmas Special If They Could See Us Now, and two more specials are due to be shown later this year.
